Aid Box Community (ABC) is a grassroots, humanitarian organisation based on Cheltenham Road in Bristol. The charity has a community hub and Free Shop where asylum seekers & refugees in Bristol receive support, sanctuary and can also find basic essentials to daily life as the settle in our city. Many vulnerable people who have come to the UK escaping persecution, war or natural disaster receive less than £5 a day to live on, sometimes for a whole family, and ABC supports hundreds of people each year.

Bristol Wood Recycling Project do paid collections where they will take away any wood waste you have. They also have the option of drop off donations subject to these guidelines and cannot guarantee they will take it: No MDF or Chipboard, nothing with nails in, no timber under 1.5m in length and furniture must be in reusable condition.

Emmaus Bristol is a working community, where people access a long term home while they get back on their feet after experiencing homelessness. Their residents, called 'companions', run and operate their social enterprises - three charity shops, a furniture collection and delivery service, house clearance services and an ebay store. Companions train at the social enterprises to build work skills, with a goal to eventually get into independent employment and living. They can access courses, higher education and receive food, their own bathrooms and living space, a wellbeing fund and weekly financial living support.

Physionet collects surplus physiotherapy and related equipment across the UK. Once checked, it is shipped to countries across the world where these items are then distributed to people who would not normally have access to them.

The SOFA Project have sites in Old Market and Gloucester Road. They take most furniture and some white goods.

South Bristol Toy Library is a small, volunteer run local charity and a brilliant resource for children, parents and carers in South Bristol. They encourage free play, the sharing and reuse of toys and aim to support the development of children from all backgrounds.

The Library of Things are based in Kingswood and are an organisation where people can reserve and borrow the things that they need and want. The items you can borrow covers all sorts of things and ranges from lawn mowers to a fondue machine.
