Textiles:
Children’s Scrapstore - we accept textile donations, as long as the fabric is big enough as we don’t accept small scraps of fabric.
Clothing banks - there are lots of clothing banks around the city and lots of them accept clean, dry, and useable textiles. Some of them accept unusable rags, you just have to make sure that the donations are clean, and clearly labelled rags. Check with individual clothing banks as some vary.
Bristol Waste Recycling Centres - at each recycling centre, there are clothing banks that accept dry, clean and useable textiles. They don’t accept rags.
Charity shops - donations of clean, dry and useable textiles are usually welcomed, they may also take donations of smaller scraps of fabric, you will have to ask first. There’s a chance that unusable rags may also be accepted, check with individual location beforehand.
Dunelm Textile Take Back Scheme - accept donations of clean, dry, bagged textiles, and the donations can be ripped or torn. All donations either get reused or recycled. Just drop them off at a local Dunelm participating in the scheme.
Recycling bin - you can put clean, dry, and clearly labelled textiles in a bag and leave them in the black recycling bin outside to be collected. Won’t accept wet or damaged textiles/rags.
Up-cycle - you could use the textiles and create something else with it. Here and here are some fun ideas to get you started. There are many different possibilities and it could be a fun and creative thing to explore!
